Too HOT!

So Weston came out the other afternoon with swim trunks on, holding Tyler's and asked if I would help Tyler get in his swim shorts. Tyler comes around the corner naked and ready to go! I didn't care that they ran around in swim trunks and am fairly used to Weston changing his clothes 4 - 5 times a day to suit the activity or mood he is in. So I didn't think much of it, until they started running outside saying they were going to play in the sprinklers.

John used to have the sprinklers set to go on every day at 3:00pm and 5:00am, but had backed it off to just the morning cycle. The boys though were expecting sprinklers, so with some coaching from John we got the sprinklers turned on so the boys could play for a few minutes. The boys loved it - they went everywhere except for in the water, and laughed the entire time! It was so funny to watch them play, especially when they did get wet - and would do the 'oh no - mommy I got wet' thing. John even through a baseball in the middle of the sprinklers to bribe them to get wet - but that didn't work so well. When the sprinklers went off - then they got the ball! My kids are so weird about water!

But it was still soooo HOT, when the sprinklers went off so Weston decided he had to get out his little fishy swimming pool. I wasn't so sure about it, but John agreed that it was really warm and they would probably like it, so we got that set up. And again, the boys loved the water - as long as they weren't in it! Until finally they did get in along with all the toys! Soccer, crocket (water polo), wagons! it was all in there! I went to go see what temperature it was (out of curiousity) since it was soooo HOT... it was only 65 degrees! There's Sequim for you!

The best was when they dumped the wagon in. They dumped in Weston's pet worm from last week (who litterally had been loved to death), and was now shaped like a pretzle and hard like one too - so Tyler found it and tried to eat it (the kid eats anything) and then was drinking the water, and acting like he was wine tasting!





The next day (yesterday) we invited their friends over to play in the water again - and they all had a blast! Especially with ice cream cones after dinner. It actually was a perfect day and a great summer evening!
