Musings

I have discovered that I don't like ding-dongs. If I want a snack, that is bad enough to cause early clogging of my arteries I want the Little Debbies Swiss rolls. Twinkies also don't hold my attention much either.

Now if we are just talking about snacks. My first choice almost always is jerky. John thinks this is odd as he claims jerky to be a predominantly male food. But there it is.. I love Jerky - with swiss rolls, and then doritos. Doritos with cottage cheese - that's really good! And then the frito honey BBQ spiral chips.. those are really good too. I don't like carbination, I prefer water to most anything to drink. And I have to talk myself into salad moods - unless it's prepared for me. Then they always look good. Like fruit - it's always more appetizing to me when someone else has prepared it for me, and I'm eating it out of my house. I can't figure that one out?????

Speaking of food. I used to think that Elayna wouldn't eat anything - that's not true. She just very selective, but she's not consistent to I'm not sure how to work around this. But if you let her feed her-self with her own fork.. and usually with food off your plate. She does much better at eating more!

The boys have by their very actions taught Elayna to shoot people. She sticks out our pointer finger with her thumb up and makes the "kshchoo, kschoo" sounds and laughs.. The boys join in and they are all shooting each other. I keep wondering if I should worry about that - or just laugh as I have been.

Tyler, for the second time now, just layed down on the living room floor and fell asleep. John wonders if that is a sign of bad parenting.. I just think it's confusing on the kids part. When do kids start realizing that they want to spend more time in their beds!?

I have a very good life. Mostly it's just funny. I find that all though I can't express things in a fun and entertaining way.. most everything makes me laugh. Even though it shouldn't. Usually it's my kids when they start crying or getting all animated about something that just brings a smile to my face!

We started soccer again today, and I realized that growth is a learning process. Sometimes we think we, or our kids are ready for something. And we get so excited to 'show off' what they can or try to do' only to find that a week later they can't or wont do it anymore. But two weeks after that they try again. And depending on what we fed them with the first experience flavors how they attempt their subsequent tries. It's interesting to watch how Weston and Tyler analyze experiences of theirs or their friends and how that shapes their opinions and their willingness to do different things.

Just interesting. Really this all started when I realized that at almost 32 (ya I'm getting old) I just now realized that I just don't like all junk food, I actually don't like most of it - especially the boxed bakery items.. Ding-dongs really aren't good at all! Except jerky - but I'm not sure with all the protein there, they can be considered junk food.
Maybe now I can start to kick the extra fluff I want to be rid of!

We are down to pull-ups for night and a set of diapers. Tyler is almost out of pull-ups period, and Elayna has started to bring me diapers and wipes when she needs a diaper change. Considering she is very inconsistent with that too - it will still be a while, but every time I'm amazed at how my brain starts to look forward to the no diaper life ahead!

That was a pretty random post. But funny! Yes, jerky is a "guy" food. And most of those sweet snacks covered with waxy chocolate that we loved when we were kids are just nasty. I love reading about your life!
