Happy Birthday to ME!
Aside from being a little bummed by my age, or at least the constant increase of it without the added wisdom or maturity that I would hope for.. I really loved my birthday! And to everyone who called I have to apologize for not answering the phone, and Thank you for thinking of me and taking the time to call. I am in the midst of calling everyone back to enjoy a nice conversation instead of a stinted quick call.... But I had decided (that morning) to spend my birthday reading the Book of Mormon so that I could complete my self challenge of speed reading the Book of Mormon before I obsessed over anything else. And knowing what I was getting for my birthday I really needed to have completed my challenge!! So I hope you'll forgive me!
Weston had been talking for weeks about which cake I would like. He had decided on a chocolate speed racer cake until he saw a very colorful baseball cake and then he was undecided between the two and was considering letting me choose for myself.I wasn't sure I would get a cake, since I wasn't going to make my own. I figured I'd go buy a slice of the 'ever lovin' spoonful' cake from our local farm grocer... but John was more than prepared. The night before he worked on my cake so for breakfast we were all set for chocolate cake with a present on the table and a big bouquet of balloons!
To Weston's dismay I did not get the speed racer or baseball cake, but a chocolate camera cake to match the very exciting new camera I was getting. John ordered the camera a few weeks ago and got it all set up and charged so I could play with it for a night before it was put back in the box until my birthday! The boys were happy for me, aside from wondering why I didn't get any 'toys'. My birthday celebration was a slight disappointment to them... but I couldn't have asked for a better day!
I have wonderful friends, and though they aren't always as close as I would like. I love them still and think of them often, including cousins who seem to be ever so willing to help me in my efforts (Melissa!).
I have been blessed in my life in so may ways but probably the most important is that I have been raised to know that my Heavenly Father loves me, that the Savior atoned for my sins and I will have the opportunity to live again with my family through the eternities with our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I have a testimony of these things and am so very grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. Without which I think I would be more lost than I could say.
So with all of these wonderful parts to my life.. I am off to yet another wonderful year!
(Don't judge to harshly on the pictures.... I had just come home from exercising!)
Hey, at least you exercise! Happy Birthday!
