I love My kids!!!!

This was too funny not to share......
This morning as I went in to Tyler's room with him Tyler (3) announced that he had a wet bed...(not a good thing since we are thinking/hoping we are close to being potty trained at night). So I pulled back his blankets to see the bed and it wasn't wet.

mom: You're bed isn't wet.
Tyler: yes it is...
mom: where
Tyler: in the middle (he felt the middle of the bed)
mom: see - it's not wet
Tyler: "Yes it is"... he then reached his head over the bed and licked the bed leaving a wet mark.. pointed at it and said.. "see it's wet".

Tyler then proceeded to lick the bed making wet spots. Weston came in and asked what he was doing..

mom: Being a silly goose
Tyler: NO!!! I'm not a goose. Gooses (we're still working on plurals!) don't have tongues (pointing to his own) they only have beaks.. (making a beak out of his hands)

he then climbed on the bed and started licking it again.

I thought it was very cute!

The other day I was outside with the kids when a neighbor came by, she looked at me and said "and I don't know you.. I know your son Weston but I haven't met you".. She then went on to describe Weston as very - Charismatic! I thought that was a very nice word choice as I choose words more closely related to tiring, constantly inquisitive and precocious. But Weston is very easily carrying the reputation in our neighborhood as being the boy who is always doing.. always talking to people, always having to be and see what is happening. He does make me tired - but I love that he is so social and inquisitive and confident.

I was stopped the last Sunday by a sister in our ward (who was a little too close to my personal bubble) so that she could tell me just how beautiful and georgous Elayna is. I have to admit I like getting compliments on her behalf.. But as John said when I relayed the story to him "don't you ever get tired of hearing it". And I have to admit it does get a little old when I am stopped all the time at the stores, post office, church, walks, park, etc.. to have my children gushed over. I don't want to sound snotty.. because if I am ever to be stopped by someone - I really would like it to be about how wonderful my children are and not how obnoxious they are! I guess I'm just glad that as small as our gene pool was - it had good genes to work with!

But Elayna has definitely won the hearts of everyone she has met, and continues to melt the hearts of most everyone that see's her. She has recently started hugging people. Not 'complete strangers' but people she has just met, if she gets a chance to spend a few minutes with them - she will eventually lean in and 'hug' them! She also starts caressing their heads - but with her physical finesse it's more like she is swatting flys out of their hair. hmmmm. it is cute though!

For my birthday as posted, we had Chocolate cake for breakfast! My kids are not sweets kids. They usually never finish a dessert even though they have begged for it and usually been bribed to finish their dinners to get it. But for breakfast cake is a good thing! Weston make it through about 1/2 of his slice. And Tyler was able to finish his.. Elayna was given a sliver of a slice and wasn't touching it. John tried to force feed her the cake and she squirmed and pursed her lips and wouldn't give in. Finally John won - she had cake in her mouth, she looked confused then pensive.. she looked at her cake and started poking it. Got her fork, got a bite ready and then tried to feed it to John and would have nothing to do with the cake at all.

Elayna's new favorite thing is to feed everyone else her food... Not to say that she is starving - but if this continues we may have to start feeding her before anyone else is in the room!

------
The other day John picked Elayna up, she arched her back to look at us and gave us a very big smile - leaned forward and licked John on both cheeks.... and then just laughed!
