Snow Day's
The boy went out in the snow Wednesday morning and were done with it - it was cold. To their benefit, we haven't outfitted them for snow - so they don't have snow boots or pants and their gloves seem to fall off an awful lot.. but it was cold and they were maybe a little whimmpy. oh well!!! I wanted some fun in the snow - and they would enjoy it!
So on Friday we had our second snow day (no school day) and still they didn't want to go back out in the snow. Saturday John was gone on a campout since the night before, and we all got a late night because they missed daddy so much they couldn't go to sleep... So we were home, a little tired and stranded with no car so I got the kids convinced we were going to go outside to build a snowman. We got all bundled up - two pair of socks in rain boots and were out and ready to go, Elayna was the best dressed of all of us - looking much more like a big pink marshmallow, and Tyler was set with a pair of John's gloves because we had lost one of his gloves. We were ready...
Sadly the snow was way to dry to be building anything.Elayna was having a somewhat difficult time walking and after falling face first in the snow learned to stay on the sidewalk and then when she hit a patch of ice... and got this very nice and symmetrical goose egg on her forehead....
she was done for the day!
Tyler kept loosing his gloves and finally gave up. And Weston doesn't understand the meaning of cold and although he was having a blast trying to de-ice the little roller coaster and the drive way! (It was something like... 12 degrees outside, his coat was in the garage - too hot!) He eventually was done too - maybe if Daddy had left the sled there would have been something else to play with.. but it ended up being a very shot lived snow season for our kids.. We are ready for the sun!
Thank goodness for nice warm daddies who come home and make life all better for the hurt ones, and thank goodness it's warming up (were in the 20's-30's)!! Maybe we wont be snowed in for Christmas!
