Tyler

Tuesday I was helping Tyler get ready for school. Tyler sadly got my hair genes so it is thin and straight and since his hair is short he always has roosters that are in desperate need of attention! (roosters are what we call the hair that sticks up on it's own!)

So we took a trip to the bathroom to fix the roosters, and since I don't want resistance in this effort I always try to compliment which ever kid it is, so that next time they will be more likely to agree to having their head doused with water. :)

So I commented to Tyler "very handsome". Innocent enough, but Tyler got excited and demanded that I take a picture of him. It was too dark inside, and we had a good 30 min. before his ride was going to come so we went outside and then took a series of pictures per Tyler's direction. All the posed pictures are his - and the few times I asked for a smile - well, let's just say it's not the smile I think will win the million $ cute baby contest! But with a little editing (maybe too much, don't judge I'm still just learning!) I think they are really fun. And thank you to Ali for teaching me how to make them big enough to actually see on the blog!!

We started here - he wanted a picture of him being 'crazy'. Then we had to move to a prop - use the slide for various climbing - don't worry I wont post all the 20+ pictures tyler had me take of him sliding and climbing and hanging!

- caught off guard with a 'Tyler hey look here'.... mostly normal looking!

This is where I asked for a nice smile, something worthy of a 'birthday picture' since we missed them. And this is what I get. Serves me right for asking I guess!

Just cute - but check out those lashed and dimples!

just experimenting! Tyler had me shoot a series of pictures with just his head on the slide.. most were of him pretending to be asleep, this one turned out kind of cute!

After we had exhausted the backyard, Tyler wanted to move to the front so we could take pictures of him riding his bike! On his own ambition, Tyler started learning to ride his bike a couple of weeks ago and was officially part of the biker's club before he turned 4. I'm really impressed at how well he is doing especially for how young he is! We have gone on a few 3 mile bike rides and he does such a great job. Especially considering that he has to pedal two or three times as much as the rest of us to get his little wheels to keep pace with us. He is always red in the face and drenched when we are finished, but he loves it and keeps wanting to ride on the long bike rides, on his own bike and not on the trailer bike. He is such an amazing kid! Hopefully soon we'll get Weston the bigger bike that he needs, so Tyler can move up in size and not have to work so hard! He is loving his freedom though, and loves being 'a big boy'. Now that he is 4 and can ride his bike even he believes that he is getting bigger!

He wanted me to get a bunch of pictures of him riding on the rocks, the grass, making skid marks, and turning circles... he was hilarious! he even later had me take pictures of him on the little roller coaster and pictures of him making 'Tyler Tornado's'. When he wants his picture taken - he really wants a lot of pictures! And then he has to come and see how each picture turned out before we can take the next one. Thank goodness for digital!

I took the picture of his legs this morning - I guess playing hard and learning to ride a bike has it's downside. I'm not sure if it's good or bad (since it already looks like we are beating our child) but these are all more than about a week old and you can't see the back to his legs! I don't think I've seen his legs without serious color for over 2 months or more. But he keeps going - and playing just as hard as he can!
