I'm not your boy...... cont'd
*see post from May titled 'boys' for background story*
So Monday Weston wanted to ride his own bike to school (his preferred mode of transport), rather than ride behind John on the trailer bike. I needed to talk to Weston's teacher and since I had just come home from running and was still sweaty and gross - and I didn't want to drive while Weston rode, so we just all went along. Having Tyler be able to ride his own 2 -wheeler has been really nice for our bike rides!
As we were prepping to go and getting Elayna all set up in the big trailer Tyler started in again with his discussion from the other day
Tyler: See Mom I'm not your boy I'm Daddies boy
Mom: Why can't you be my boy too?
Tyler: Because I'm just Daddies you already have Elayna and Weston
Weston: You can't be Daddies boy... because Daddy didn't have any babies in his tummy
Tyler: But I'm still Daddies boy (talking to me) because I'm crazy and you (mom) don't like crazy kids.
ya.. the absolute knowledge of a 4 & 6 year old!
So what I'm getting from all this is that Tyler for some reason feels that I don't want to claim him, and Weston thinks that I am responsible for everyone and Daddy is just along for the ride!
---------------
Same day - making Weston's lunch before school.
me: Weston do you want to try a different sandwich for lunch, like maybe a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or something?
(Everyday it's his 'favorite' cream cheese with ham - which translates into mayo and lunch meat. Really he just doesn't like sandwiches and one day he started with this because we had cream cheese and bagels and it's just evolved or de-evolved depending on taste preferences)
Weston: No!!!! Mom, I don't want a sandwich. I want something different for my grain.
later at dinner... We had hamburgers left overs from Tyler's & John's birthday - don't worry they were frozen and only some of the buns had gotten moldy!
Weston: (looking at all of our dinner options) But mom, where is our fruit for this meal?
Weston is very obviously learning a lot at Montessori, since not only is he making sure we have a well balanced diet, but he is always reciting the names of his bones and muscles and explaining how we work! It would be a great story if he one day went into the medical field. But I'm still betting on a NASCAR driver, or Stock Brocker... either way having lots of $$ and driving really nice and fast (hotwheels) cars!
*apparently Weston doesn't know that tomatoes are fruit. Tyler on the other hand had a bun, with hamburger sauce (mayo) and tomatoes.. that was all he wanted and has named it the tomato burger.
