

Things are really pretty in Utah right now. The weather is finally drying up enough that you can plan outdoor activities. (Yes, I know it is ironic that we are moving to costal Washington State.) Both of these pictures were taken from our backyard. The indian paintbrush is really vibrant this year and there seems to be a concentration right behind our house.
We have been getting so excited to move, but occanionally we have twinges of regret about leaving our home and friends. We have really grown to like the area here and are finally starting to feel like we are settling in. We will definately miss our house. We had so many plans when we moved in a year ago, but they have all been put on hold. Sometimes we feel that we are going to be downgrading since there is no way we will be able to afford the equivalent house in Washington, but hopefully we will have something that we can be comfortable in when we build our next house.
Sometimes we ask ourselves if we did the right thing by building a house so quickly and then having to move. Jenn and I have decided that the learning experience in itself was worth the trouble and the stress. We have made some good contacts (I found a thesis advisor in the ward) and some good friends. We also have a lot more experience for the next time we build.
