john's celebrity look a likes
I had to try John too!!!
face 2
face 3
So my cousin had a link on her blog for this fun little experiment and I thought I would try it out. Using two different pictures to see what came up. I laugh at both of them, first because I have had multiple people say I look a whole lot like kate Beckinsale who I have a 76% match too from the first picture. But secondly, that using the second picture where I was obviously not dressed up at all.. I have a higher % to matching celebrities! It's just fun to see!

and Picture 3 (just because John had 3!!)
Hey - I'm flattered, obviously, at my look-a-likes!!! But mostly -I'm just glad I didn't have any men come up like John having all the women on his!!!!
Fun Stuff!!
Weston is now 5. That seems so strange to me and not even that he is 5, but that it means that John and I have been married 6 years - and that seems strange!
Weston is really becoming a big kid. Aside from finishing 2 years of pre-school and now being registered for Kindergarten. He always seems to be doing what he can to be helpful and kind to others and really just tries to be good. It always makes me laugh a little when he says things that are so sweet and considerate. I don't know why I think it's funny I guess I just don't expect it to come from him. Like when I get comments, "You're my best mommy", "Mommy, this is a really good dinner thank you for making it" and such! He loves his little sister and adores and protects her. And he loves his "friend" Tyler.
Weston is a smart kid who is always inquisitive and wanting to learn. He loves to play most anything and loves his friends and is just so fun. His sense of humor is interesting and just makes us laugh. But of everything I love about him, I love how considerate he is of other people. John and I love that Weston is ours and who he is. I look forward to watching him continue to explore, learn and grow.
We started his birthday with his balloon bouquet and a fancy breakfast of strawberries, blue-berry muffins and ice cream shake. Then after school got ready for his "friends" party which all in all turned out well. But let me explain, I have in my mind this idea of a perfect birthday party with hats, streamers, a beautiful cake (that tastes even better), well behaved and patient children and a calm event. That is not what happened!
Let's start with the cake which was supposed to be an x-wing fighter cake but in my opinion looks more like a bad combination of a bumble bee and an armadillo. Weston saw it and said it didn't even look like an x-wing but when I asked if it would be okay to still work for his party he very kindly said it would be 'okay'! I guess it would have turned out better if I had started before an hour before the party... and as John says - maybe I should have looked to see what one looked like first! Novel idea!!!!! :)
Next, I planned the party for 2 hours with a few activities including pinata and decorating bags to hold the treats, presents and play time with cupcakes. I thought that would be enough to fill the time before the kids were picked up. Well - the group of 8 boys was like a swarm of bees zooming from one event to the next. Even the pinata (that last pinata available without princess' on it, just slightly smaller than Tyler) still didn't even take as long as I thought it would to break open, and gathering the candy - I think lasted maybe a full minute. So when everything was done and play time started it had only been 45 min..
Next, our camera died about a week ago. Not only does it not change menu items or do much other than just take a snap shot picture, it doesn't download even those! So we had to borrow a camera which was a lot of fun to try out, and a friend brought hers to help out too. But the battery died while I was taking pictures, and her card filled up so for the majority of the party we didn't get to many pictures. But we did get enough to show the highlights which was good!
Weston's best friend and his family stayed for dinner, presents, the cake and ice cream. But while I was making the pizza he wanted for dinner he saw the present from us and without us knowing grabbed it and opened it. So the climax of eating dinner, having cake and opening presents wasn't there - not even kind of! So we hurried the eating part so he could finish playing with his new wii game (mario cart) and then we had cake much later. Which when I finally got cake Elayna decided she wanted it instead and after she played in it, it just wasn't that appetizing to me anymore, she had fun though!
This was not the birthday party I had envisioned, but Weston will tell anyone that he really liked his birthday party. Especially the transformers he got (which John and I wish would magically appear behind the tire of the car) and his mario cart game, and even though the cake was a mess he liked that too! So I guess it was a success - and hey if I can fix the pictures we do have - maybe he'll remember it as being the best birthday part ever!
